I

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of our dear mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and aunt, Marge.
Marge was a compassionate, caring, kind, and incredibly generous person, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Marge was very creative. She authored a novel (unpublished). When her children were young she sewed and created remarkable costumes for them at Halloween. As well as being an accomplished seamstress, she could crochet
and was a talented cook and baker, evidenced over the years by her many animal shaped birthday cakes made specially for her children. Marge also created a backyard garden water feature and grew amazing sweet peas.
Marge was a determined, headstrong, slightly rebellious teenager. She left home as a young woman, and launched into the world seeking adventure and acceptance.
In her work life, Marge excelled in whatever she pursued. As a young woman she moved to Winnipeg and worked in a tuberculosis sanatorium as a practical nurse. This began her career in nursing. She would go on to care for the elderly and later worked at the old Woodlands Hospital as a psychiatric care giver. She provided loving care and support to her parents in their final years.
Marge returned to Vanderhoof in the late 1970’s and worked in the office at N.V.S.S. where she regaled staff and students alike with her wit and charm.
Following the births of her children, she successfully started an on line vintage sales business as well as an on-line educational teaching tools business.
Marge dreamed of becoming a mother. Her children were her reason for being. She was an engaged mom who supported her children through hockey, swimming, and piano, as well as many camping and fishing trips.
As an older big sister she was looked up to for her fashion style and interior decor abilities. Man could she up cycle. She was the “go to” adult for honest answers to all those teenage angst questions.
Marge was the older big sister who spoiled her younger sisters at Christmas in particular. Any Mattel toy you can think of, Marge made sure we had. She would come home for the holidays and we couldn’t wait to see our big sister and have a slumber party. All those personal, handwritten letters from Santa on Christmas morning were all due to our sister giving her little sisters the most magical Christmas.
Marge is predeceased by her parents, Betty and Alex, nephew Shawn, and niece Lori.
Marge is survived by spouse Frank, children Alissha (Corey), Kevin (Anne), and Danny. Also left to mourn are sisters Pat (Jerry), Cathy, and Debbie (Joe); great-nephew Carter and great-niece Dayna and brother Jerry. Marge was delighted and thrilled to be a grandmother to August and Veronika.
No words can sufficiently capture how much Marge meant to us. To honour her spirit, have a coffee and share a laugh with someone you love or shower someone with an act of kindness.
Forever in our hearts. Much loved and deeply missed.
