Catherine “Kit” Power passed peacefully in her sleep on May 3, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by those that loved her. Though cancer came with a vengeance, Kit lived a full, meaningful, and independent life right to the very end.

Born in Coachman’s Cove, Newfoundland to Maggie & Nicholas Kennedy on November 12, 1933, it was always a joke she had two birthdays as they originally thought she was born in December. If there was dancing or singing, you knew where to find Kit. She loved to laugh, have fun, and be entertained. She was always ready with a story or two and carried with her a lifetime of history and memories that she generously shared with those around her. Kit loved life deeply and never hesitated to let you know exactly what she was thinking. Even at 91 years old, she still insisted on doing the dishes…
